Is NOW the right time to get my invites out?
The countdown has begun. The wedding season is just six months away and you’re probably wondering if you should be getting your wedding invites in order. Well…you guessed right!
When planning a destination wedding it is recommended you have your invites out 6 to 8 months prior to your wedding date. If, however, you’ve already taken care of notifying your guests through a save the date…then you can easily send them out six months prior.
Why six-months?
Because, the six-month window allows your guests to find ALL flight information. Giving them an opportunity to sort their flight times, vacation time and budget.
But what goes into a Wedding Invitation?
The part of the day the invitation covers.
For example, are you inviting your guest to the ceremony and reception or just reception?
The location name and address for the ceremony and reception.
Adding a link to your wedding website assists your guests in finding you!
The date and time of the wedding.
RSVP information.
This includes details of where the reply should be sent.
Responses can be done online, by phone or through a return RSVP card.
RSVP deadline.
It’s usually 4 weeks before the wedding.
Lastly, the duration of the event.
There’s no denying that destination weddings usually imply a 2-3 day bash.
So inform your guests and they’ll book their flights to be there.
Let’s not forget that Wedding Invitations are not just a formality. They are the window to your wedding day. Offering your guests a first glimpse as to what your wedding will look like. Through detailing, you can incorporate the style, colours and/or themes of your special day.
The style font will tell them if it will be a formal or informal affair.
You could also incoporate designs that tell a story. A story of where you first met, what brought you two together and where the wedding will be held. They are a reflection of you, as a couple, and your journey!
So take the time, have fun with it, and ask your wedding planner for help…
